Dalí — Time

$1,000.00

WHY DALI INSPIRES ME: Surrealism has always fascinated me because it gives form to things that are difficult to explain. Dreams, fears, memories, grief, hope, anxiety, and transformation rarely make sense when viewed logically, yet they shape so much of our lives. Salvador Dalí challenged the idea that art must depict the world as it appears. Instead, he painted the world as it feels. Clocks melted. Objects transformed. Reality bent under the weight of emotion and imagination. As an artist, I am drawn to that freedom. Some experiences cannot be captured through realism alone. Surrealism allows me to explore the invisible parts of being human…the stories we carry, the versions of ourselves we leave behind, and the dreams that continue to shape who we are becoming. Dalí reminds me that art does not have to explain reality. Sometimes it can reveal a deeper truth.

Time: Inspired by Dali-This piece is not about memory. It is about possibility. The clock represents every version of ourselves that could have existed had we made different choices. Every relationship we did not pursue. Every city we did not move to. Every risk we did not take. Every dream that remained a dream. As we move through life, possibility narrows. Doors close. Paths diverge. Some futures become reality while others quietly disappear. The woman is melting into time because she understands something many of us resist: We cannot live every life. We must choose. She recognizes that every version of herself (the one she became and the ones she left behind) are part of the same story.
